50 vibrant street trees were planted in November 2008 in the Triangles area of North Birkenhead as part of The Mersey Forest's Green Streets Programme for Merseyside. Trees were planted to enhance recent improvements to house frontages in the Norman Street and Mallaby Street area as part of the HMR Programme.

The project is a Green Streets delivery by The Mersey Forest, site managed by TEP. Funded by ERDF Objective 1 and the Northwest RDA through the Newlands Programme, the HMR programme assisted the scheme by funding the future maintenance of the trees.
