Excellent Homes, Great Lifestyles

What's Happening In Your Area?

Rock Ferry

Situated south of Birkenhead, Rock Ferry has excellent communications to the region with motorway networks and Merseyrail station nearby, it's a great place to commute to and from work.

Fiveways in Rock Ferry is set to see major changes under the Housing Market Renewal programme over the next couple of years. The area lies some 4km south of Birkenhead in Wirral. With the A41 linking Liverpool and Chester along with the nearby motorway network and Rock Ferry Merseyrail station, it has excellent communications to the wider Merseyside sub region.

Historically, Fiveways was built to serve the housing needs of the Wirral's growing workforce towards the end of the 19th Century but now exhibits acute signs of housing market stress. After intensive consultation with residents who have been involved since the beginning, contributing to the shape of the new plans for the area. All in all, 300 homes will be demolished and the same number of homes built.

Wirral Council have now acquired more than 85% of homes included in the 'Fiveways' scheme. They will be cleared to make way for the new homes built by the private developer Lovell which will consist of a mix of houses and bungalows available for rent, shared ownership and outright sale.

Lovell, Riverside Housing Association, Wirral Council and DK Architects have been working on the plans for the new homes for many months along with residents and Lovell are due on site in March 2008 with the first homes available summer 2009. Prices are yet to be released.

A stone's throw from the tranquil Port Sunlight Village and within walking distance of the regenerated New Ferry Shopping area and Tranmere Village, Rock Ferry is an up and coming place to live. Live Wirral. Love Wirral.
